Leon was part of the Brainchild Festival 2017 creative team. She was Short Story Hour Coordinator and brought together a selection of up-and-coming young writers including Chibundu Onuzo to read their short fiction aloud at the festival. The idea for Thousand: An Anthology of Very Short Fiction grew out of Leon’s work with the Brainchild team. Thousand is an anthology of twenty stories on a variety of themes, each of one thousand words or fewer. Leon and Tristan Rogers (the co-editor) wanted to promote a wider range of writers, particularly from communities traditionally underrepresented in literature, in a format that will hopefully have appeal both for habitual readers and those who don’t always manage to squeeze reading into their day.
The Thousand launch took place at on Thursday 1 March 2018at Platform Southwark . The anthology is available to purchase from the Brainchild Festival online shop.
